After supper, about 7pm, I suddenly decided I fancied a trip to Winterthur, where you may recall they have late night shopping until 9pm on Thursdays.
I am just completely awe-struck by the number of trains they have here! I had a choice of 2 or 3 different trains that would get me from Zurich to Winterthur. My electronic timetable didn’t even bother telling me about one of the options, because it would mean a 3 minute dash across the station in Zurich.
Had a nice wander around the shops and then back to the railway station. Again a bewildering choice of trains. Should I run across to platform 4 to get the train which is due to leave in 2 minutes? No I’ll stay on platform 3 and catch the train which is due to leave in 5 minutes instead!
I just don’t know why people bother using cars here at all!
