Was quite a while going to sleep last night, and had just drifted off into a blissful doze when I was awoken by the most unusual noise. At first I tried to ignore it, but it went on and on, so that I became fully awake. I finally had to get up and open my window blind to see what it was.
Turned out to be a firework display. Obviously very local and very noisy! So much so that it was vibrating the metal window blinds on my building and also reverberating around all of the surrounding buildings.
I have to say, I am amazed that the Swiss allow this! I had heard that they are all early to bed types and that in some apartment buildings you’re not even allowed to flush the loo after 10pm, so this must really have upset their sleeping pattern.
