I decided that this was my day for another swim, but wanted to go for a trip as well. So I decided to combine the two! I looked on the map and found a small lake about an hour away from here at a place called Türlersee. I had to catch a train and then a bus to get there. I had all sorts of ideas of a secluded spot in the countryside, but alas this was not to be! When I arrived, there was a camp site on the edge of the lake and a man collecting money to enter! I decided that I was not going to pay – I felt that it was unlikely that they owned the whole lake, and so I set off for a walk around the lake to find “my” swimming spot.
Seems there are a lot of Zurichers who like to walk around this particular lake! It was quite busy, but I did finally locate a spot where I could change and jump in without bothering anyone. The water was a little cool, but quite pleasant in the heat of the day. In the distance I could hear someone playing an alpine horn or flugelhorn or something. Not very well! I then walked around the remainder of the lake and then got the bus back to Zurich. Browsed around the Shop City under the central rail station for a while and then returned to the apartment.
I am longing to do some more skating practice, but think I will wait until this evening. Too hot at the moment. I am also looking to find a nice grassy place where I can practice. Apparently it’s easier learning to skate on grass because there is more friction. Carpet works as well, but I only have a very small rug in the apartment!
