Watch problems

Yesterday I noticed that my watch had some condensation inside the glass, and then I noticed a small crack in the glass. Probably going swimming in the watch wasn’t such a great idea! I think the glass has been damaged for a while – don’t think this is a result of my recent tumbles!

So, first problem is to dry out the moisture. Well I put the watch under a lamp for a couple of hours which sorted that out. Unfortunately it also heated the watch up and the LCD looked really black. Seemed to go back to normal as it cooled down.

At bedtime I noticed that the watch was completely dead, so I decided to try taking the battery out and putting it back in. Opened the watch and did this and it seems to have sorted the problem, but then spent the next two hours or so trying to get the watch back together again. Finally managed it, but not before I stabbed my thumb with one of the dirty pins from the strap.

Really must get to bed earlier tonight, and perhaps go find some magnesium sulphate from a chemist tomorrow, as my thumb is looking a little red. Assuming I can work out what they call magnesium sulphate in German!

Have been enjoying watching some episodes of Lost from http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/1/53
