Woke 8:30. Pretty cool. Washed and dressed then checked out. Left luggage and then wandered round the resort site. Took pictures including some on time delay with Ben’s camera. Walked back to wait for bus to airport. Flight delayed 20 mins or so. Apart from the lack of fruit on the flight (they only load 30% apparently) it was uneventful and we caught some glimpses of the Opera house on approach to Sydney. Off the plane, we located the airport train station and got advice on how to reach Kings Cross station. We had decided to buy a 5-day train pass to allow us to get around. We caught one train to Central station then another from there to Kings Cross. We knew we had to walk along Darlinghurst Road to Macleay Street to our hotel, and located this easily. We have a lovely view of the Harbour Bridge from our room (I had paid a little extra for this) At 9pm, we saw a lovely fireworks display over the harbour.
