Journey to work was more pleasant. Instead of train – tram it was train – train, and a nice indoor change at that. It was also a shorter journey, so I can catch the later train if I wish (or if I am running late!)
New office was nice too. Completely refurbished and re-equipped with brand new desks and chairs etc. And the promised free coffee was there too! On the negative side, we do have no canteen, so four of us ventured out to the local shopping mall where we had a very nice sweet and sour chicken meal at the Hong Kong restaurant. A bit pricey, so won’t be able to do that every day, but nice once in a while. I am sure we will find some other cheaper alternatives nearby. Mind you, as I totted up, I was paying quite a bit for coffee at the other place each day, so I guess it’s all swings and roundabouts!
It is Dad’s 77th birthday today. Happy Birthday Dad! And poor Annette was ill. Hope you’re soon feeling better!
Journey back to Kloten was the reverse of the journey this morning – very smooth and fairly uneventful. A little boy – about 8 I’d guess went into the toilet on the train and a few minutes later we heard a blood-curdling scream as he realised he had locked himself in! He managed to extract himself pretty quickly amidst lots of smiles and nods from those parents amongst us. He was pretty sheepish and got off the train at the next stop, but I saw him sneak back on again! Obviously a bit embarrassed!
On my return to the flat, there was some post waiting for me. Two items of admin from the bank, welcoming me as a new customer.
Must get down and do some laundry tonight. I am running out of undies and socks! We have a free laundry facility here in the apartments, but I don’t know how busy it gets.
