Started with a trip to doctors to about Ben’s cough. Found we needed to go to register with Medicare at Town Hall or Bondi Junction. Looked on website and decided to head for the branch at 130 George Street, which I presumed to be near Town Hall! Wrong! We walked the length of George Street and eventually found a police station at 132. They told us that there is no 130! Apparently 130 George Street is in a different town/city!! Walked to see Argyle Cut (mined out by early convicts) then to café to feed sugar to parrots again! Had 6 or 7 at one stage. Lovely and colourful. Amazing to see them in the wild like this. Next we walked to the opera house via circular Quay and had a look around. Decided not to go on the tour. Back to Circular Quay and caught a train back to Town Hall Station where we easily found the Medicare office. Took longer than expected to register, but armed with a temporary number, we then got Ben’s prescription dispensed. Next stop was Sydney Tower where we ascended the lift to the observation deck for a fantastic view over Sydney and the surrounding district. They also have a multi-media presentation which is well done. Includes a motion simulator and a 3D presentation. Very good. My camera was on the blink, so we went to a camera shop where they advised us to use Lithium batteries. Bought some from Woolworths and camera seems much better! Decided to try the monorail which goes round a part of the city. Bought a day ticket and went round the loop twice! Walked back to hotel via a bit of the botanical gardens where we saw swarms of bats and then to Harry’s Café de Wheels for pies and peas. Ben had a roll with mash, peas, ketchup and cheese sauce. It was delicious and very good value. Apparently this pie van is World renowned! Walked up the 112 steps from the harbour to Pott’s Point.
