Sea World. We had been told that if we arrived early, we might get to book in for a chance to work with the dolphins, so we arrived before 8am. Unfortunately the story was not quite right. Only a couple of the dolphins were doing this session and Ben and Ellie were too young for the “trainer for a day” thing anyway. The man told us that we may be able to book in for a kids dolphin experience as soon as the park opens at 9:30. So we went off to get breakfast (mostly pancakes) and got back by 9:15. Once we had paid to go in, we rushed to the check-in desk and registered Ben and Ellie. The cost was a bit of a surprise to us ($140 each) but we figured it would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We did the log flume ride 3 times, watched various shows including a sea lion show similar to the one in Florida. Monorail, cable cars, 4d movie, dolphin show. Then the kids did their dolphin experience. It was amazing – well worth the money. Lots of lovely pictures and a DVD provided. As we had paid for Ellie to do the dolphin thing, Eliz and Michael paid for Annette, Ben, Ellie and me to do a 5-minute helicopter flight. That was also amazing! After a lovely day, we headed back to the hotel and Alison treated us to another buffet meal. Again lovely.
