Sleep!

Had a great sleep last night! Yeah! Not sure what I will do today – nothing too ambitious though!

Last night, when it got cooler, I decided to go for a walk. I discovered a lovely cycle path/footpath which goes from Kloten towards Bassersdorf, which is one stop up the train line and still in my train zone. I was surprised that there were lots of big business units along the way, but also lots of agricultural land. Got to Bassersdorf just as a train back to Kloten was due in, so caught that. The walk took the best part of 45 minutes, but the train was only 3-4 minutes!

I decided to go to the cinema. I wanted to see the latest Bruce Willis film, and I know it’s not one that Annette would particularly enjoy. They have most films available in English with German and French subtitles, as well as the option of going to see the German dubbed version. Needless to say, the English one was my choice. I managed to book online even though the cinema website was in German. Quite proud of myself. It wasn’t obvious which seats were which and I booked the cheapest one. A mistake as it was on the front row. However, since there were less than 6 people in the whole cinema, I was able to move to a different seat, and saved myself 6 francs into the bargain! The cinema was spotlessly clean – mind you ours was the first film of the day. They also still have an interval half way through the film. Just suddenly stop and flash up a message saying “let’s go buy some ice cream”!

For lunch (before cinema) I went to an Italian restaurant just by the cinema. I had scampi with pasta. No breadcrumbs on the scampi. Bit different, but very pleasant.

Managed to get myself to the place in Zurich where the church meets Sunday evenings. Was again made very welcome, but the pastor is away for a few weeks and so there was a lot less English spoken. I still had my own translator, but it was much harder to concentrate on the sermon when I had to listen for every word from her. There were two or three songs I knew this week, as well as one (in German) which we sang last week.
