Yeah! I can go anywhere again! Yippee!
Having decided to make my phone call to the transport company this evening, instead of wasting time at work, I was delighted to find a letter waiting for me at the apartment, explaining the reason for the delay. I was able to make a quick call, sort everything out, and tonight have been back to Zurich to collect another temporary pass. This time I am confident that the proper one will be forthcoming.
It’s wonderful to have the freedom to travel again! Over the weekend it’s been a bit claustrophobic, wanting to go places and knowing that I could not just jump on a train and go. There is a lot to explore in Zurich – I’ve barely scraped the surface yet, but I do enjoy being able to go to the length and breadth of the country. Apart from enjoying the beautiful scenery, travelling is a great way to fill up spare time. And most of the trains are air conditioned too! Lovely in this heat.
There was a real sense of my honeymoon period being over at work today. My boss suddenly decided that there were things he needed me to do urgently. It’s been great actually, as it has made the day pass much more quickly. I am still having trouble getting information that I need, but I know I will crack it eventually!
I also made a visit to the bank today to pay my deposit and first month rent to my new landlady, so that’s in hand too.
I have a real sense of things coming together.
