It was lovely being able to set my alarm for 7:15 this morning, and know that I could still be in work for 8! I also slept much better last night.
My walk to work was uneventful except for the rain that decided to fall. Not a problem – it had started before I left the apartment, so I had my coat with me.
After work, I decided to see if I could find a short cut back! The route this morning was OK, but it was up a hill and down a hill. I was sure I could find a less hilly route, and sure enough I did!!! I am thrilled with the route I have found – it is lovely and flat and much shorter! Wow!
I didn’t mention that I have a small Denner supermarket just across the road from my front door. A post box there as well, but sadly no stamp dispenser. I popped in to get a few bits and pieces. Ben’s package was waiting for me – a lovely card and a flashing “World’s best Dad” badge. A real treat!
After getting changed, I rushed out – I wanted to get to Dietlikon to have a look at IKEA. I needn’t have rushed – they are open til 9! I was looking for some sort of bed or futon for Ben when he comes. They had a few possibilities, but I haven’t bought anything. I want to have a look round some other places as well. I was also looking for pillows – I only have two in the apartment. The German word for pillow is Kissen! But they were either really expensive or really small or really soft. Again I didn’t buy – have a couple of weeks yet to look round.
Back to the apartment and had my milkshake.
Nearly time for bed.
