I went to bed early last night and was asleep by 10:30. At just past 11, I was woken by the noise of a woman shouting just down the corridor from my room. I have no idea who she was or what she was shouting at, but it woke me, and it took me a while to get back to sleep again.
I forgot to tell about my experiences in the weather yesterday lunchtime! I went out without a coat as it was so nice and bright, and walked to the local shopping mall. When I came out of the mall, it was beginning to rain lightly, but I thought I would be able to get back to the office. Anyway, a few minutes later it was throwing it down. I ran the last 300 feet to the office, and just as I got in the door, the rain stopped! It is very variable!
One of the items of post from the bank was my cash card. For some reason, they do not issue a PIN number in the post, like UK banks, but instead you have to go to a bank branch and they set you up with a PIN. That would have been fine in our OLD office, as there was a bank branch just downstairs, but in the new office the only bank branch is in the shopping centre. It’s not far away, so I decided to pop in on my way back from lunch today. UNFORTUNATELY they don’t have a machine in this branch to issue a PIN number, so I had to catch the tram back up to the branch at the old office. Quite a laborious process! Never mind, I have my PIN number now, so I will be able to use the cash machines for most things.
For lunch today, we went to another Credit Suisse building not far away from our office, where they have a canteen. It was not quite as varied as the original office, but was much quieter. I guess we will probably go there quite often!
Had a good session with the boss today. He answered my list of questions and so I am now full steam ahead on the project he gave me. He reckons that we’re going to be quite busy over the next few months, so I told him I prefer it that way! Nothing worse than being bored at work!
