Australia Zoo

Australia Zoo. A real high spot of the holiday. Ben got to hold a koala bear and we all fed an elephant. We watched an animal show and saw lots of fantastic animals. The Tasmanian Devils did not stay still for photos and we enjoyed watching the wombat going for a walk on a lead! We walked through a koala enclosure and were able to stroke one. The signs in the trees saying “this tree has a koala in it” were amusing. Mum thought she spotted a decapacitated duck n the croc enclosure, but it was only a lock on a gate! The koalas were SO cute but the biggest highlight for me was being able to hand-feed lots of kangaroos. They sold bags of food for 50 cents – we bought 6! They were SO tame and really photogenic! A wonderful opportunity to get up close to these amazing animals. We drove back to Pelican Waters, stopping off at a Coles to pick up some food en route. We also stopped for a MacDonalds.
